Show Her You Love Her Every Day

Mother's Day

Another Mother’s Day has come and gone, but if you love your mum, it’s important to celebrate the impact that they have on our lives every day, not just once a year. Taking a bit of time out each day to show you mum that you love her will show her just how much you love her, and will ensure she knows just how appreciated she really is. We’ve come up with a few ideas to make every day a bit more special for you and your mum. Remember, it’s always the thought that counts, and even if it’s just a small gesture, she’s sure to love it.

Ask How Her Day Was

Whether you still see your parents every day or live on the other side of the country (or world!) to them, take a quick minutes out of your day to send her a text or ask her face to face how her day was. It’s a simple, quick way to show her that you’re genuinely interested in how she is and how she’s feeling. Make sure to ask her about the best part of her day, too, and share your enthusiasm with her. The small gesture will really make her feel cared about.

Offer Her A Cup Of Tea

This one might not work if you’re particularly far away, but if you do get to see your mother regularly, offer to make her a quick cuppa or fetch her a coffee so she can put her feet up for a few minutes. It’s such a small gesture, but it’s sure to lift her spirits and give her the chance to kick back for a while and relax. Best of all, make yourself a cup, too, and spend it having a chat and catching up with your mum and all that she’s been up to.

Flowers Don’t Need An Occasion

All too often we feel like we need an event or special occasion to show people that we love them, and in those cases, flowers are always the logical, go-to option for plenty of us. But being surprised with some blooms, whether a bunch or a bouquet, when you’re not expecting it can be even more special than a delivery from the florist on your birthday. While it might seem like too much of an expense, spending $10 on your mum every now and then and forgoing a couple of coffees every few weeks will be good for the both of you, and will show her how much you care.

Make Her Dinner – Or Take Her Out!

Cooking for someone is one of the most loving things you can do, particularly if you’ve (somewhat) mastered their favourite things to eat. Offer to cook her favourite meal for her without any prompting or occasion, and she’s sure to thank you for it. But if the kitchen isn’t your favourite place, then take her out for a meal just because you can. It doesn’t have to be expensive, but considering all the time she’s spent looking after you, shelling out a few dollars on a tasty meal that makes her happy is the least you can do.

Call Her, Just To Say One Thing

Calling your parents is something that you should (hopefully) be doing regularly, but the next time you call your mum, make sure that you say you love her. It’s something that a lot of us might not say when we go to hang up to our parents because we think that they already know we love them, and it’s true – they probably do! But that doesn’t change how nice it is to hear, and those three little words can just make your mum’s day.
