There are plenty of shapewear brands on the market, and though most of them won’t admit it, they all tend to have the same idea in mind: make women look skinny. We’ll admit that we want to change the way you look, too, but it’s only so that you can feel as comfortable as possible no matter what you are wearing. We don’t want to make you skinny, or to try and turn you into someone that you are not, but we do want to help you feel comfortable and confident in the skin that you are in.

Vera Donna was born out of an insight into the shapewear market that generally restricts sizing up to size 16. This means that women who wear anything larger than that have been struggling for years to find shapewear that will actually fit them, and have instead been forced to squeeze themselves into uncomfortable, ill-fitting garments that can do more harm than good to both the body and the confidence of the woman wearing them. The human body doesn’t stop at size 16, so why should the clothes be any different?

What little shapewear we did find to fit a fuller figure was always disappointing to us. Brands always seemed to decide that it was okay to sacrifice style, with the items often something you wouldn’t actually want anyone to know you were wearing. But if it is making you feel confident on the outside, why shouldn’t you feel confident letting other people see it? We wanted to bridge that gap between practicality and beautiful, and so have designed all of our garments to make sure that they are something you can feel proud being seen in.

With decades of experience designing compression garments for various medical conditions, we decided to approach the task with science on our side. Our garments have been designed to complement your figure in ways that normal shapewear can’t, thanks to our personalised touches. Other shapewear brands may claim to be couture, but Vera Donna designs are authentically so, as we customise each order to fit the customer’s exact measurements.
