For some reason, the topic of female empowerment is one that can ignite plenty of fierce debate with people from all over the world. But, regardless of what other people might think, at Vera Donna, we want to make sure that women all across Australia feel confident and proud in who they are. Building that confidence isn’t always easy, though, particularly when there are always people in this world who might be trying to bring you down.

Society tends to have a lot to say about a woman’s body, no matter what she looks like. Simply for being there, people feel at liberty to comment, and we know just how damaging hearing someone’s thoughts about your body can be to your self-esteem. No matter what they are saying, whether good or bad, it can affect you in a way that might stay with you for a long while. It is always easier said than done, but it is important for women to hold their head up high and try their best to brush off what people are saying.

Teaching yourself to rise above the negativity in the world will do a lot more than just clear your mind. The positivity that you radiate outwards will be perceivable to those around you, who will feel even more confident and empowered just by having you around. We want to emphasise the importance in this positivity, rather than having you dwell on the bad things. There is certainly enough negativity in the world without us adding to it, so, more than anything, we want to help you become the happiest version of you instead.

There is no “right” way of looking and no “right” way of being, but there is a right way to be you, and that is to be simply the truest, most authentic version of who you are, no matter what people think. We want women all across the world to be true to themselves, regardless of what others are saying about them, and we are here to help make that aspiration come true. To find the power to be the best version of yourself, you need to find that spark, that confidence that will guide you through your search for fulfilment and empowerment.

Part of our mission in designing our shapewear is to create something that is not only practical, but also beautiful, so the woman wearing our garment can feel as beautiful as possible from the inside out. Learning to love yourself, no matter the skin you are in, is the first step to confidence that will stay with you throughout the rest of your life. We want our garments to help bridge that gap and give you the positive, empowering thoughts you need to stand tall against a world that has plenty to say about you.
